Snowbird, Utah has the largest vertical rise amongst Utah resorts, with a peak elevation of 11,000 feet and a vertical drop of 3.420 feet. It is also top 10 in the nation for vertical. Located a mile down canyon from neighboring resort Alta in the Wasatch Range of the Rocky Mountains, Snowbird offers a challenging brand of skiing and riding, along with enough intermediate terrain to entertain guests of average ability. Snowbird has 2,500 acres to play in with 13 lifts serving 89 runs, the longest of which is just over a mile long. The resort receives over 500 inches of snowfall annually. The area is 29 miles from Salt Lake City International Airport, making same-day arrivals and skiing fairly easy.
