Killington Mountain Resort in Vermont is the largest ski resort on the east coast. Killington features 191 trails and 3,050 feet of vertical drop, which is the largest vertical drop in New England. The resort consists of 7 different peaks and 141 runs which make up over 1,000 acres of skiable terrain! The longest run is 6.2 miles. The resort has 2 gondolas, 5 express quad lifts, 4 quad lifts, 4 triple lifts, 2 double lifts and 5 surface lifts. Combined, these can transport over 37,000 skiers and snowboarders per hour.
Killington was originally opened in 1958. The resort expanded rapidly in the 1960s and was the first resort to introduce the ticket wicket to prevent lift ticket sharing. The resort averages 250" of natural snowfall per year. Adult lift tickets are $79 for midweek and $86 for weekend. Young adults (13-18) and seniors (65+) can get the same tickets for $67 and $73 and Juniors (7-12) are $55 and $60. They have some decent multi day discounts and a nice snow guarantee that lets you get a refund if you turn in your ticket by 10am.
